Getting a water test is the first step toward any water solution.
It is important to get a water test if you notice changes in how your water looks, smells or tastes, after a flood, or concerns about lawn or agricultural chemicals. Routine water testing is also important even if you don't notice anything different or already have water treatment systems.
Harmful bacteria, parasites, and viruses are invisible to the naked eye, so water which seems normal may not necessarily be safe to drink. Routine water testing will identify water problems and also make sure that existing treatment systems are treating the water accurately.
Free Water Test
We are happy to provide a free in-home water test to analyze Sulfur, Hardness, Iron, Manganese, Total Dissolved Solids, pH level, and colloidal clay/turbidity.
NYS Certified Labortatory Water Test
Some water problems can not be tested with an in-home kit but we will come to your house to collect a water sample to have it laboratory tested. Water problems to be sent to a lab include Coliform Bacteria, Nitrate, Lead, Copper, Arsenic and all other heavy metals, chemical contaminants, pesticides, herbicides. We can test almost anything!
Commercial/Residential Compliance Water Test
We provide water testing services required by NYS and federal agencies on a regular basis.
E. coli & coliform bacteria (test annually): indicates fecal contamination that can cause symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting
Lead (test every 3-5 years): harmful to many organs and systems in the body and most harmful to developing babies and young children
Nitrate & Nitrite (test every 3-5 years): most harmful to babies; associated with infant blood problems
Arsenic (test every 3-5 years): long-term exposure is associated with nerve and liver damage, cancer, high blood pressure and damage to blood vessels of the heart and brain
Sodium (test every 3-5 years): concern for individuals on restricted sodium diets due to high blood pressure or other medical issues
Iron & Manganese (test every 3-5 years): causes rust or black staining on fixtures and clothes
Turbidity(cloudy water) (test every 3-5 years): interferes with chlorine and UV-light disinfection
pH (test every 3-5 years): causes lead and copper pipe corrosion and metallic-bitter taste
Hardness (test every 3-5 years): causes mineral and soap deposits on fixtures; reduces detergent efficiency
Alkalinity (test every 3-5 years): interferes with chlorine disinfection and causes metallic-bitter taste
